What is an electrical COC certificate?
Your legal proof that the electrical installation is safe. It confirms your plugs, lights, DB board, geyser wiring and the rest of the installation comply with SANS 10142-1 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Rules change over time, so older houses often fail on items that were fine when they were built. We find them, list them on your report, and certify once they are fixed.
Selling a property
Transfer needs a COC. It may not be older than 2 years.
New electrical work
Additions and alterations need a COC for the work done.
Insurer or landlord asks
A valid COC proves the installation is safe.

What does the electrical COC cover?

What happens if my installation fails?
You get a written COC report listing every item that does not comply. Once those items are fixed, the certificate is issued.
